As of this post, I am now just two weeks behind this project instead of four. There are a couple of reasons I’m this far behind. One is, both of these sketches look like crap to me.Two, up to a few weeks ago, I was working with a very toxic individual and even though we’re not working together anymore, I still feel like the life has been sucked out of me.
I have to keep reminding myself that the whole purpose of this weekly exercise is not to be particularly profound, but to be more prolific, which has always been my waterloo. Fingers crossed, I catch up by next month. がんばれオレ！
After the James Jean signing (more on that on a later post), Julie, Pallon and I hung out at a coffee shop to sketch. We’ve all made resolutions to be more proactive and productive this year with our – and I really hate to use this word because it makes me feel like a pretentious douchebag – art.
While I can’t commit to a 365 project like Pallon, because I know I won’t be able to stick to it, I’ve decided to start a project 52 instead. 1 sketch every week for the rest of the year.
To make up for missing the first weekend of the 2012, I’m uploading two today, and they are sketches of who else? My Let’s-be-productive buddies, Julie and Pallon haha!
They both have their eyes closed because we were all kind of sketching each other, not because I got lazy hahaha! (No, no. I’m not defensive at all.)
I’m not the best person at finishing what I start, so I really that I stick to this to the end. Let’s go, 2012!
Inspired by Pallon‘s new tattoo (read: green with envy LAWL), I decided it was high time I got my second tat. I started sketching a design, but turns out my drawing muscles are horribly out of practice.
So here are a couple of practice runs. I’ve decided to resume keeping a sketchpad with me at all times until drawing becomes second nature again.
I couldn’t decide if this was a boy or a girl haha!
As unromantic as it sounds, I copied her wings off of a blue bottle fly.
