Bume-benkyou!

I’m happy I’m living up to making 2012 my make-things-happen year. I attended my first Japanese class last Saturday!

When I was little, I picked up Nepali in a couple of months (it took that much time for me to forget it too when we moved back here haha!), so this will be my first time to learn a language in a classroom setting.

We started off slow and easy. Mostly common phrases like, “Please” and “Thank you”, and how to introduce yourself.

This may or may not have happened in class.   (gif via basil-ovelby.tumblr.com)

Pretty much stuff I’ve picked up with all the Japanese TV I’ve been watching lately, only now I know how to say it more politely HAHAHAHAHA.(*-`ω´- )

Writing, on the other hand, is a lot more difficult than I expected. While I’m a little familiar with Katakana and Hiragana, the stroke order is driving me crazy!

How I’m supposed to do it VS How I actually do it.

My failure at Japanese penmanship aside, we’re off to a fun start. I’m excited for the next class this Saturday! がんばりま!
